Georges Bank Fish Habitat
Over the past 15 years, Collie has conducted field studies on Georges Bank to contrast areas open and closed to fishing, applying modeling techniques used in North Sea studies. He thus frequently attends International Council for Exploration of the Sea meetings to report on his findings. He typically has four or five graduate students helping with his research. “My research program includes three of the most important components of an ecosystem approach to fisheries management: habitat, climate and species interactions.”
